Lent is a 40 day season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends at sundown on Holy Thursday. It's a period of preparation to celebrate the Lord's Resurrection at Easter. During Lent, we seek the Lord in prayer by reading Sacred Scripture; we serve by giving alms; and we practice self-control through fasting. We are called not only to abstain from luxuries during Lent, but to a true inner conversion of heart as we seek to follow Christ's will more faithfully. We recall the waters of baptism in which we were also baptized into Christ's death, died to sin and evil, and began new life in Christ.
Divine Mercy Parish will offer two scholarship of $350.00 each. Students of the 2024 high school graduation class, who are confirmed members of Divine Mercy Parish and have plans to further their education can apply. Pick up the scholarship application in the side lobby of the Church Office, High School Office, or download the form below and send it to Divine Mercy Parish (115 Madison St. Sauk City, WI 53583) Deadline: March 12
As we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Savior, I would like to remind you of the importance of attending Mass on both the Fourth Sunday of Advent and Christmas this year. These are two distinct solemnities, or high feast days, that require our participation in the Eucharist as an expression of our faith and love for God
The feast of All Saints should inspire us with tremendous hope. Among the saints in heaven are some whom we have known. All lived on earth lives like our own. They were baptized, marked with the sign of faith, they were faithful to Christ's teaching and they have gone before us to the heavenly home whence they call on us to follow them.
