We are now Mary, Mother of Mercy Parish
Bishop Hying’s decree joining our parishes took effect October 24, 2026. Here is what it means for you.

On Saturday, October 24, 2026, Divine Mercy Parish, St. Norbert Parish, and the Mazomanie part of Holy Cross Parish became one parish: Mary, Mother of Mercy Parish. Bishop Donald Hying signed the decree of merger on October 22. St. Aloysius in Sauk City is the parish church, and St. Mary, Health of the Sick, St. Norbert, and St. Barnabas keep their baptismal fonts and the Blessed Sacrament. Masses continue at all four churches.
In his letter to the parish, Bishop Hying appointed Fr. Miguel Galvez, SJS, as our pastor, and confirmed Fr. James Kotch, Fr. Pedro Escribano, and Fr. Cristian Valenzuela as parochial vicars, with Deacon Michael Pipitone as a parish deacon. He will install Fr. Miguel at the Installation Mass on Sunday, December 20, at 10:30 AM at St. Aloysius. Our patronal feast is Our Lady of Mercy, September 24.
Some steps are still ahead. Trustee nominations close Sunday, October 25, and the trustee election is November 7–8. Our finances stay separate until the financial merger in 2027, so please keep giving as you do now, and make checks payable to the same parish as before.
The decree and the Bishop’s letter are posted in each of our churches and on the merger page, with answers to your questions.
