Pastoral care & funerals
The sacraments for the sick, and Christian burial for the faithful departed.

No one should face illness or death without the sacraments and the prayers of the Church. Our parish office can help you request a conversation with a priest, arrange pastoral care, or begin planning a funeral. For a conversation that is not urgent, you can also book a time with a priest online.
Illness and anointing
If you or a loved one is seriously ill, preparing for significant surgery, or experiencing the frailty of age, contact the office to ask about the Anointing of the Sick. It is appropriate to ask early. Please explain if the request is time-sensitive and where the person is located.
When death may be near, call for a priest without delay. The last rites (Confession, the Anointing of the Sick, and Holy Communion given as Viaticum) strengthen the dying for their passage to the Lord.
When someone is in a hospital or care facility, the facility’s chaplain or staff may also help arrange a priest’s visit. Do not assume that the parish automatically knows about an admission. A family member or caregiver can contact us with the person’s knowledge and permission where possible.
Homebound visits
The homebound remain members of the parish and of the Body of Christ. Ask the office about a visit, Holy Communion, or a conversation with a priest. Provide a contact number and the location of the visit; the parish will discuss the practical arrangements with you. You do not need to include sensitive medical details in an initial email.
Planning a funeral
The Church commends the faithful departed to God through the Vigil for the Deceased, the Funeral Mass, and the Rite of Committal, and she encourages the faithful to have Masses offered for the repose of their souls. When a loved one dies, contact the parish and your funeral director before finalizing a church date. We will help coordinate the liturgy, location, and priest’s availability. A conversation with the family can guide the choice of readings, sacred music, and other appropriate participation.
If you are making plans in advance, the parish can explain the Catholic funeral rites and help you begin preparing. Questions about burial arrangements or a particular cemetery should be directed to the appropriate office.
Reach the parish
Use the contact page for the current office phone and email. Please identify urgent pastoral requests clearly. The office line is not presented as a continuously monitored emergency number. In an immediate threat to life or safety, contact emergency services.
You are welcome to ask for support even if you are unsure which sacrament or service you need.
