Confirmation
Strengthened by the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Confirmation perfects the grace of Baptism. Through the anointing with sacred chrism, the confirmed are sealed with the Holy Spirit and his seven gifts, bound more perfectly to the Church, and strengthened to spread and defend the faith by word and deed as true witnesses of Christ.
Preparation for young people
Parents and young people should contact Jenny Bellinder, Director of Religious Education, for the current preparation program. Ask about the appropriate starting point, meetings, family participation, and any retreat or service expectations. Requirements and dates should come from the current parish program.
Tell the director about previous religious education and where Baptism and First Communion were celebrated. If a record is needed from another parish, staff can explain what to request. Families arriving during the year are encouraged to ask for guidance rather than assuming they must wait without speaking to anyone.
A sponsor and a life of faith
A sponsor accompanies the candidate through prayer and the example of a lived Catholic faith. Before choosing someone, ask the parish about eligibility and documentation. This relationship is meant to support the candidate beyond the celebration itself.
Preparation is a time to grow in prayer, understand the faith more deeply, and consider how to serve others. It is also a place for honest questions. Confirmation is part of a continuing Christian life, not the end of learning or participation in the parish.
Adult Confirmation
If you are a baptized Catholic adult who has not been confirmed, contact the office to discuss your circumstances. Adults entering the Catholic Church may prepare through OCIA. The parish will help identify an appropriate path and celebration.
Make contact
Use the Faith Formation contact for youth preparation or the parish office for adult inquiries. Request current forms and the current-year calendar directly. Please wait for the confirmed celebration details before inviting guests or making travel arrangements.
